This very charming and very distressed antique painting on wood was sourced in the Catalonian region of Spain. The background is a pale gray and has an icon of some form in black and white. It appears to be a shield with a tree, and at the top of the shield is a cross below a semi-circular stroke. There are many layers of paint on the piece which can be seen, including greens, blues and the wood surface below. The three boards which comprise the surface of the painting are held together with two cross pieces on the back.
