An extraordinary ceramic artist from Berlin, Germany, Kuhn Keramik is one of our very favorite workshops in Europe. This large scale handcrafted mug from their new Alice (in Wonderland) collection. Alice - the teaparty of the march hare comes to life. Alice cups, beakers and plates are common at first glance, but then they start to move: beetles crawl over the plate, pink cups got the print "poison" - the seemingly idyllic world gets out of control and an humoresque touch emerges.
Ceramist Bernhard Kuehn is the artist behind this over-the-top collection of porcelain. The perfectly imperfect shape of the coffee cup, with fun design, prevents the piece from being too precious. Because of the hand-made nature of theses pieces, the dimensions may vary slightly. Each vessel is hand-built, not thrown, with walls that are dimpled with impressions left by potters' fingers, adding to the charm.
Just this one available and made in Germany.
