Our Gennevilliers console table is a juxtaposition of casual formality, the French neoclassical lines contrasting the patina achieved with the distressed white finish and dark top. It is named for a suburb of Paris that has ample evidence of antiquity in its churches and a long-standing tradition as an exemplar of flower-growing. The console table is made of wood with a solid wood top that reflects an aged countenance, down to the intentional imperfections like splits and fissures. For best results, the top should be waxed from time-to-time.

The samples shown, all with splits in them, have had paste wax applied which helps maintain the internal moisture content of the wood and fill the uneven gaps you see between the wood. The pieces are designed to replicate the look of antiques with the gaps and for wax to be used bi-annually to maintain them.
