This is an antique French marble plaque featuring an ethereal image of an angel and a child, with flowers on either side. The plaque is quatrefoil in shape and the carvings are approximately one inch thick on top of an inch of marble background. Above the angel's head is a star, and to each side, a flower. The base of the plaque, where her feet are, has some discoloration and wear, similar to erosion from dripping water. The origin is unknown, but may have been due to being exposed to the elements, perhaps it was installed outdoors.
