This is an antique, hand-painted plaster statue of St. Anthony found in France. The details are simply wonderful: In one arm, the Christ child, and in the other the madonna lily, as St. Anthony is usually depicted. He wears rough spun and sandals, and his robes are decorated very simply. St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost people and lost objects.
The image of St. Anthony holding the divine infant is a symbol and model for each of us. The image inspires us to go through life clinging to the wonderful mystery of the humble, self-emptying Christ, who accompanies us as a servant of our humanity and of the world's healing.
Measures: 13"H x 4.5"W x 3.5"D. Some chips have occurred, and are easy to see in the images. There is also a larger chip in the base at the back. Please see all images for full details.
