This multifunctional banquette bench was crafted by deconstructing a 19th century French Oak commode. The body of this piece dates to the 1880s, with one wide drawer and a newly added flat wood top. The original finish has been stripped and a cushion has been added to the top to create a comfortable and chic seating space that offers storage. This piece would work nicely in an entryway, mudroom, or at the end of the bed. The cushion is cotton in a sage green and cream stripe. The front of the drawer features some carved decoration and brass bail pulls.
Measures 24"D x 57.5"W x 19"H (with cushion). The top of this piece measures 23.5"D x 54"W and is 13.5" high without the cushion. Light surface wear to wood present. See images.
