This is an antique Louis Philippe Mirror, discovered in France. The design on the giltwood frame is a floral pattern with decorative beaded accents. The gilt tones are warm with soft reds from the gesso that have peeked through over time, leaving a beautiful finish. See images for details and examples of the varied finish. The glass is new, replacement glass in regular mirror. The back is uncovered. Some small restorations were done to the back of the piece and the front edge along the mirror to ensure the frame would be secure for the new glass.

Measures: Overall dimensions are 37.6" W x 53" H x 1.5" D. Chips and surface wear are present in the frame, with some losses to the plaster. No cracks or chips in the glass are present. 

CONDITION NOTES: Repaired: Repairs to the back of the frame made to stabilize for replacement glass. Small restorations made to front edge and corners to ensure glass would be held in place securely. Replacements made: Glass replaced. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses.
