This is a tilt-top chinoiserie table found in France in a deep Burgundy lacquered finish with hand painted gilt details on the top and legs. The round top sits above a pedestal base ending in three cabriole legs. The tilt mechanism does have a small brass lock held by tension. The top shows a scene including two figures, foliage and architectural elements. The decoration on the base includes striping and scroll work throughout.
Table measures 15.5" diameter and 26.5" height. Surface wear and discoloration as well as losses to the finish of the top are present. The base is in better overall condition with less wear, but cosmetic wear is present throughout. The edges of the feet also show some wear and losses to the lacquer.
