Discovered during our recent European travels, we just adored the extraordinary carving of this 18th century Gothic trunk in French oak with a large scale intricately detailed iron lock. The top lifts open revealing large storage space inside and the height makes for a truly striking entry piece for the foyer or as a detailed bar. Both the feet and the top are a later addition but still considered antique elements. Distressing to the carvings along the front are indicative of the extraordinary history of the piece and includes a lovely patina that truly shows character.
