19th Century Distressed Black Canvas and Leather Trunk with Monogrammed Detail

This antique French trunk dates to the 1850s. It's primarily black with iron details and the body is canvas. There are leather handles on each side and a patinated monogrammed brass plate on the lid. The ovular plate reads "DFC" and a smaller, rectangular plate below reads "M--ce Cadoux". The piece is very distressed, but beautifully aged. Add glass to the top for use as a table, or install decoratively to add rich texture to your space.
