  • Terracotta Faux Bois Fallow Trophy with Antique Habsburg Antlers and Sword

  • $6,950.00

  • An exquisite fallow deer hunting trophy crafted of terracotta faux bois with 19th century Habsburg antlers from Emperor Franz Josef's castle at Eckartsau in the Southern Austrian Alps, a favorite hunting Schloss of the Habsburg royal family. The deer head has been newly hand-cast (2018) and finished with a beautiful glazing featuring the deep reds and coppers typically seen with terracotta as well as a greige wash. Each 19th-century antler is removable and the head has been designed so that the antlers fit perfectly into the terracotta form. This piece also includes an original Napoleonic light horse cavalry sword and Napoleonic gorget.

Terracotta head measures 15" H x 16" W from ear to ear. Antler spread is 28 inches wide. Depth is 17 inches and the total height is 39 inches. The sword is 38 inches in length.

All pieces in this collection have been examined and appraised and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
