This antique French gilt wall mirror is rectangular in design with floral accents around the frame which has a heavier width at the bottom. The original, antique glass is showing signs of age, with the crystalline structure most visible around the bottom edge. Some light age spots have also appeared here and there. The gilt finish has a very interesting multi-chrome patinated finish similar to an oil slick, rendering the gold to a deeper brassy, bronze color and at certain angles, pinks, blues and greens can be seen. The floral motif is broken into accents at the top corners, center sides, center front and bottom edge. At the inside, closest to the glass, is a rope-like detail with scroll details and the outside edge has a simple rope-braid style trim. The age of the finish is unknown, and it is possible that the current finish is not original. The mirror is crafted in wood with a covered back, with carved plaster decoration beneath the gilt finish.

Measures 34"W x 43"H x 2"D (depth taken at bottom where frame is thickest). D-Rings installed for hanging. Loss at bottom right corner (front) and at top right corner. Patination and surface wear present. Mirror has a few age spots.
