A truly extraordinary 19th century German red stag mounted on a exquisitely carved original Black Forest "Heroic Portrait" plaque (carved likeness in the plaque itself). Attached is the "L" crest of Prince Ludwig (thus the crest does not have a crown above the "L"). Also included is the original hunt Horn. The Fürst-Pless-Horn was named in 1880 by Hans Heinrich XI, Prince of Pless, the Colonel Jägermeister under the Emperors Wilhelm I and Wilhelm II.
Plaque measures approximately 31"H X 22"W.
Antlers measures approximately 46"H X 41"W x 28"D.
