19th century red stag trophy from Emperor Franz Josef's castle at Eckartsau in the Southern Austrian Alps, a favourite hunting schloss of the Habsburg Royal family. This historic 23 point hunting trophy features the original hardware associated with the piece, the "St" meaning is unknown. Also included is the original wappen hardware, all mounted on a hand carved Italian polychrome painted plaque. These historic antlers are bleached as they originally hung on the exterior of Eckartsau castle, in the interior courtyard so were thus exposed to the elements.
Measures 38.5"H x 47.5"W x 23"D. Antlers are removable on this piece for easier transport and handling.
