19th century fallow deer from Emperor Franz Joseph's castle at Eckartsau in the Southern Austrian Alps, a favorite hunting schloss of the Habsburg Royal family. This historic hunting trophy features a replacement hand-carved linden wood plaque with an Italian polychrome gilding technique, and original Imperial Baden wappen from the officer's pickelhaube or helmets.
