  • 19th Century Austrian Habsburg Black Forest Roe Trophies with Heraldic Badges

  • $349.00

  • This grouping of hunting trophies originated from the Eckartsau castle of Emperor Franz Josef in the Southern Austrian Alps. Eckartsau was a favorite hunting schloss of the Habsburg family. The Heraldic badge appears to be a crest of a noble Austrian family and depicts an eagle on an orange background. These half-cap trophies are mounted on original, Black Forest plaques which have been hand-carved in an oak leaf and acorn theme. As each is handmade, there are slight variances in size and finish. Five of this style available.

The plaque alone measures 7.5" W x 8" H. The total height of these trophies ranges from 12" to 14" and a depth between 4" and 7" each. Please contact us for individual measurements if needed.

Part of The European Hunt collection, this collection of antique hunting trophies from German and Austrian royalty and houses of nobility has been examined and appraised by James Supp of Coronado Trading Co., who is best known for his work with the PBS production "Antiques Roadshow." All pieces in this collection have been examined and appraised and come with a Certificate of Authenticity document.
