  • 19th c Prussian Chamois Trophies with Napoleonic Wappen on Hand-Carved Plaques

  • $495.00

  • An extraordinary grouping of trophies, each of these 19th century Chamois trophies is mounted on a hand-carved Black Forest plaque. These are full-cap trophies, but some have lost part of the skull over time as chamois skulls are very soft and can easily be damaged if not handled properly. Mounted at the bottom of each plaque is a medal featuring the "Black Madonna of Częstochowa" over the Polish “Order of the White Eagle." The medal given to Polish soldiers who fought in the Battle of Leipzig against Napoleon in 1813. Each trophy is unique.

As the plaques are hand-carved, the sizes range from 7.5"W x 10"H to 8.5"W x 10.5"H. The total height ranges from 11"H (smallest) to 12.75"H (largest). Twelve currently available.
