This decorative wood panel has been hand-carved with a royal monogram, likely a Ducal cypher, given the style of coronet above the intertwined letters. This piece is of unknown origin, although it was sourced in Belgium. We have not been able to identify the monogram, but we do know it dates to 1850. The stylization of the letters is that of floral decoration along with a rosette at center and beautiful relief throughout the monogram, coronet and molding at the edges.
Measures 37"W x 38"H x 2.25"D. Surface wear is present as well as some losses to edges of the piece. See all images for details.
