  • Habsburg Red Stag Trophy on Original Hand-Carved Gilt Candelabra Plaque

  • $5,995.00

  • This is a wonderful, 19th century Austrian Red Stag trophy on an original, hand-carved gilt plaque featuring four brass candelabras. The decoration on the plaque itself is comprised of mostly black-forest flora on the sides and an ornate cartouche at the top. The gilt is primarily on the carved portions while the main face of the plaque has a distressed greige coloring to it, in beautiful contrast to the white skull featuring an original military wappen. Each antler has aged to a gray finish and the overall presence and beauty of this piece cannot fully be conveyed in photos. The elegance of the gilt plaque combined with the gray tones of the antlers results in this one-of-a-kind trophy.

Plaque measures 33" L x 25" W. Total measurements are 43" W x 53" H x 24"D (from wall to the tip of the antlers). There are a total of four candelabras which are crafted in brass and are somewhat adjustable, although we would recommend a very gentle approach. The antlers are removable, and are secured with metal rods which slip into the skull cap. (Please see images for areas of surface wear and places where the gilt has been chipped or scratched.)
