Sri Lanka is a beautiful, diverse island with a rich history and a unique mix of Buddhist, Muslim & Christian traditions. It has had many names over the years, one of the most memorable being Serendib, which inspired the word “serendipity." Serendipity means when something happens in an unexpected but positive and beneficial way - such as the finding of these vintage camel bone bracelets by accident in an antique jewelry store in the UNESCO protected walled city of Galle in Southern Sri Lanka. Due to the islands' proximity to India you can often find items from India in the boutiques that scatter the fort...from textiles to gems, but these bracelets were a true rare find. Simple, without the carvings that typically adorn many of the present-day camel bone bracelets, these vintage pieces are a perfect shade of cream as well as sturdy, elegant & chic.
Each bangle is 1/2" wide and 3.5" diameter. Interior diameter is 2.5 inches.
