  • 19th Century French Wood Wine Press Screw, ca. 1830

  • $395.00

  • This fantastic tool of winemaking originates from a wine press, decorated with grapes and leaves. As part of a larger piece of manual powered machinery, this wine press screw makes a sculptural statement as a decorative accent. Carved out of solid wood, the screw portion is mounted between a base and top with decorative molding at the edge of each. The usable portion of the top of this piece is 9" square (should you wish to use as a pedestal). The bottom base has small feet mounted underneath for stability. See images for more details.

Measures 45" H x 12" W x 12" D. Surface wear present. The coloring is a rich chocolate-tone that is patinated in the areas where it likely would have been handled most. Discoloration is present on top (shown). Finish is original.
