This is a classically shaped Louis Philippe mirror crafted circa 1830 with a very ornate cartouche at the top. The figures in the cartouche include two cherubs on either side of an urn filled with fruits and florals, swag details and scrollwork. The cartouche has become patinated and is deeper in color than the gilt on the mirror frame. The bright gold gilt is very beautiful and the mirror is comprised of two panels with a seam at center.
Measures 38" W x 66" H x 5" D (depth taken from the top). The depth at the edges of the piece is 2". Surface wear and patination are present. Slight gap between the two mirror panels, back of mirror is uncovered.
