  • 19th century fallow deer on original black forest carved plaque that hung in Emperor Franz Josef's castle at Eckartsau in the Southern Austrian Alps. Eckartsau was a favorite hunting schloss of the Habsburg family.

    Skull features the original writing on the skull which likely represents a member of Austrian nobility that would have been hunting with the Emperor.

    The plaque for this piece measures nine inches wide and 15 inches long. The antler spread is 19 inches wide and the antlers are approximately 19 inches long. The depth of this piece is 15 inches and the total length is 30 

    Part of The European Hunt Collection, this collection of antique hunting trophies has been examined and appraised by James Supp of Coronado Trading Co., who is best known for his work with the PBS production "Antiques Roadshow."

    All pieces in this collection have been examined and appraised and come with a Certificate of Authenticity document.
